Offering Alternative Work Arrangements For Associates

July 10, 2008//Lincoln, Neb.//As gas prices continue to put additional economic pressures on working families, Ameritas Life, Acacia Life, Union Central Life and their affiliated companies are  proud to offer alternative work arrangements that can help reduce these costs for its associates.

Among the options available to associates are a compressed workweek, the ability to work from home (telework) and flextime. The compressed workweek affords associates the option to work four 10-hour days in lieu of the traditional five-day, 8-hour a day week. This type of schedule can save associates significant commuting expense (up to 20%)  and daycare costs for families with young children.

The telework/work at home alternative allows associates to work all or part of their workweek away from the office. This option offers associates tremendous flexibility and can also provide costs savings.

Flextime allows associates to select their arrival and departure times other than the traditional 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule. This option can benefit families by adjusting an associate’s working hours to fit busy schedules. It also can shorten commute times by allowing associates to start their day at non-peak hours.
